Tutorials

I have been trying to use jMonkey and noticed this site in one of the posts. Are there any tutorials availabe, i.e. FlagRush, that show how create a simple game or where's a good place to start?

I have looked through the examples. I am just looking for a simple game demo that gets Ardor3D up and running and then been able to build from that point. I am more of 3D modeler.

We're lacking a bit in documentation, tutorials, etc., so I don't think there is really anything that will allow somebody without fairly advanced programming skills to get going easily. Could you maybe outline what you would like from that, so we could maybe try to provide something that will help non-programmers in the future?

A tutorial on how to get the opengl context up and running and how to add an input handler and a camera would be a good starting point. I think, from that point, using and changing code from the examples would be enough to get the noobs on our way. Thank you... :D

The (non-trivial) tutorials on NeHe's website (http://nehe.gamedev.net/) for Ardor3D would be cool.

A couple of simple game demos is something we really need. Just covering some common cases:
- (mmo style) Running around on a terrain with an animated character in third person
- (fps style) First person view where you can shoot projectiles at something
- (rpg style) 45 deg ortho camera with tiles or flat terrain etc
- (platformer style) Side scroller with layers of 3d.

and so on... :)
